Sample Data Sets As data from SEER*Stat are protected, we cannot use
data directly extracted from SEER*Stat as sample data here. However, a
“public” version of SEER*Stat data are available through the NCI GIS portal
that displays the NCI Cancer Atlas (https://gis.cancer.gov/canceratlas/app/). At this point, the Cancer Atlas portal does not
support the class separability classification method. The two sample datasets provided below are
downloaded from the Cancer Atlas website with post-data processing
procedures. Therefore, the sample data are not directly download products
from the site. However, the original data are maintained to the best of our
capability and knowledge. Dataset
#1 The first dataset is Age-Adjusted Incidence Rates by State (2010 to 2014) All Races Breast (Female). A map of the rates generated by the Cancer Atlas portal is included below. The zip file below includes the .dic and the .txt files, as if they were downloaded from SEER*Stat. Zip File: Age-Adjusted Incidence Rates by State (2010 to 2014) All Races Breast (Female) [download here]
Dataset
#2 The second dataset is Age-Adjusted
Incidence Rates by County (2010 to 2014) All Races All Cancer Sites (Both
Sexes). A map of the rates generated by the Cancer Atlas portal is included
below. The rate table was processed and was merged with the shapefile of the
U.S. county boundary file. The zip file below includes the shapefiles with
table columns for the rate data. Note that the ways that ArcGIS and
SEER*Stat in handling missing or suppressed data are different. As a result,
the “0”s in ArcGIS can mean “missing/suppressed” data. Zip File: Age-Adjusted Incidence
Rates by County (2010 to 2014) All Races All Cancer Sites (Both Sexes) [download here]
